With roots in the Los Angeles DJ scene dating back to 1992, N Effect began his career spinning house parties before developing a reputation for precision trick mixing. At just 17, he became a finalist in the inaugural Power Tools competition in 1994, performing live at The Dome in Hollywood—his first club appearance. Originally grounded in hip hop, he became known for creatively blending hip hop with house music and went on to compete in numerous DJ battle and mixing competitions.
In 1999, he stepped away from the club circuit and shifted his focus to music production, working behind the keyboard with independent hip hop artists while continuing to perform alongside them as a DJ. As the EDM movement expanded in 2015, he launched a new chapter producing electronic dance music, earning releases on major labels including Revealed Recordings and Spinnin’ Records. His tracks have since been supported by main-stage festival DJs worldwide.
Today, he continues producing EDM while sharing daily short-form mixes and cultural throwbacks that celebrate the sound and spirit of the 1990s, connecting longtime fans and new listeners alike to a defining era in dance music history
